FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHAT IS UBERPOOL?
uberPOOL is an option for riders to share their ride, "matching" them with other people going the same direction.
Different riders traveling at the same time normally need two uberX drivers. POOL puts these riders in the same car; they each pay less than uberX but the driver-partner gets both fares added together, earning more overall on average.
It is better for the environment and traffic congestion, and is more constant business for you.
DO I GET PAID DIFFERENTLY? WHAT IS THE SERVICE FEE?
Each rider pays their own fare. Rider payments get added together for your gross fare. Each "2nd request" means an extra fare added to your first one. Remember, uberPOOL matches riders ONLY if their paths overlap.
If you get multiple pick-ups on a uberPOOL trip ("matched" trip): you get multiple fares at once, which leads to more take-home earnings than a single uberX trip (you can't compare two uberPOOL trips to two uberX trips, because two uberX trips at the same time would need two separate drivers). The service fee is 30%.
If you only get one pick-up on a uberPOOL trip ("unmatched"): because the price is lower, the Uber service fee is only 10%.
Also, the "Rider Fee" portion is only $1 with POOL, not $1.50 with uberX. More of what the rider pays is your fare.
