Uber is committed to provide affordable, safe and reliable rides to all its riders. Partner drivers and riders are at the heart of the Uber experience and its improvement requires efforts from both parties to make each race a remarkable experience. We have developed standards for all to have a shared vision of standards of security, quality, respect and courtesy during each trip on the Uber platform.
PROFESSIONALISM AND RESPECT
Uber maintains a zero-tolerance policy regarding all forms of discrimination, aggression (verbal and physical) and abuse.
It is unacceptable to refuse to provide or accept services based on a person’s race, religion, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, sex, marital status, gender identity, age or any other characteristic protected under applicable federal or state law. This type of behavior can result in permanent loss of access to the Uber platform.
NO AGRESSIVE ATTITUDE
It is disrespectful to make derogatory remarks about a person or group. Furthermore, commenting on appearance, asking overly personal questions and making unwanted physical contact are all inappropriate. We encourage you be mindful of other users’ privacy and personal space. Violence of any kind will not be tolerated.
Calm and clear communication is the most effective way to defuse any disagreement that may arise between you and another Uber user. Uber expects that all riders and drivers will treat one another with respect and courtesy.
NO CASH EXCHANGE
All transactions made on the Uber platform are done through the mobile application. No exchange of cash is needed between the driver and the rider. Failure to respect this principle may result in the permanent deactivation from the Uber platform.
PROFESSIONALISM AT ALL TIME
In addition to the main rules mentioned above, please stay professional in the way you interact with the service, namely:
- Drive only with an approved and associated with your profile car;
- Also, please do not start the trip before the rider has entered in your car;
- Do not let anyone else use your driver account;
- Make sure you have no other passengers than the rider and the persons accompanying the rider.
The safety of passengers and drivers is a matter we take very seriously, please see the following recommendations.
COMPLY WITH TRAFFIC LAWS
Be respectful of traffic laws. Uber will not help you contest a ticket if the reason was a breach of local Traffic laws. We also recommend you not to have your phone in your hands while driving: please hang your phone with suitable devices while driving.
RIDERS AND DRIVERS AUTHENTICITY
We strongly encourage you to always check the identity of the riders who enter in your vehicle.
The service is suitable for the entire greater Montreal and the Quebec only. The trips lasting over two hours are not tailored to the platform.
