When helping someone who may have a hearing impairment, most importantly remember WALL (Watch, Ask, Listen, Learn). Here are some other tips:
- Ensure you have the customer's attention before you speak. Maintain eye contact and speak face to face when possible.
- Speak clearly at a normal pace unless otherwise asked.
- Try to use your body language to help communicate. You may also want to try to text or write a note in your phone.
