"I get excited when a request comes to my phone that has surge pricing because that means I earn more money. My favourite time to drive is Saturday night. The map is almost always red!" - Top Partner Muhammed K.

WHAT IS SURGE?
During times of very high rider demand, prices go up - this is called surge pricing. Surge pricing helps maximize the number of Uber drivers on the system during times of extreme demand, increasing the chance that there will be cars available when riders need one most.
HOW DOES THE PRICING WORK?
To do this, we add a surge price multiplier. This is the rate at which your fare will be multiplied, for example 1.8X or 2.5X. That means a fare that would normally be $10 would be $15 at 1.5X surge! Uber's fee percentage does not change. Riders must confirm the higher amount of a surge priced trip by typing in the surge multiplier.
WHEN CAN I FIND SURGE?
Surge pricing is most likely to occur during holidays, big events, poor weather and peak hours!
